Dan Lee's Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays are always balanced, rich and refined, and if he avoids the bold, brawny style that others from his Santa Lucia Highlands locale have adopted, his wines have almost never gone wanting for stuffing. That said, we wish this edition had more of the convincing fruitiness that its mate above possesses. Good pale color. Lemon, lime and cinnamon on the nose. Juicy, spicy and nicely concentrated, with firm acids giving energy to the middle palate. The rather strong cinnamon oil character currently dominates the wine's fruit. Finishes firm and oaky.
