WINEMAKER'S NOTE
Winemaker's NotesThe 2005 Domaine Pinot Noir has hints of cranberry and cherry on thenose with a silky entry and fruitfulness on the palette. This fruitforward wine has flavors of cherry and blueberry while hints ofvanilla, menthol and cocoa spice round out the lingering finish.Technical Notes% Blend PN Clone BlockVine Age SoilTrellis System 54%11319g10 yearsBellpineVertical 20%WADS16d11 yearsBellpineVertical 13%WADS1ec13 yearsBellpineVertical 13%115/11319f10 yearsBellpineVertical Final Analysis: 12.9% alcohol; TA: 0.59 g/100 ml; pH: 3.66Fermentation: 100% stainless read more...steel, temperaturecontrolled tank fermentation in open top fermenters. Bud break started early in most vineyards but flowering wasabout normal for Oregon between the first and second week in July.Poor weather conditions during flowering resulted in low yields formany vineyards in the Willamette Valley. Fortunately, Mother Nature waskinder at King Estate and we had normal to high yields complemented byexcellent quality. Fruit maturity progressed at a nice slow pace givingthe vines time to develop optimum varietal characteristics. Harvest atKing Estate lasted from September 30th until October 22nd. (hide)
