Miguel Angel's two favourite wines, from outside Spain, needless to say, areBordeaux and Burgundy. His homage to the latter is the Calvario, to the formeris the Aurus. Beyond the tell-tale bottle shapes, the differences are subtleand intriguing; the Aurus 2005 is made from 85% Tempranillo and 15% Gracianoand was aged for no fewer than 25 months in 100% new French oak.     Glass-staining purple. Youthfully backward nose displays inky dark berry and plum aromas, along with licorice, espresso and dark chocolate. Then shockingly fresh and precise on the palate, offering sweet black raspberry and blueberry flavors, with powerful tannins adding structure. Coats the palate and reaches every nook and cranny of the mouth, gaining spice and cracked pepper nuances with air.
