WINEMAKER'S NOTE
To capture the complexity of the grape and diversity of the Napa Valley, Faust seeks Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from Agustin’s family vineyards in Rutherford and Napa’s soon-to-be named Tulocay viticultural area in the eastern foothills south of Atlas Peak, as well as small lots from diverse mountain and valley terroirs. • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
18% Merlot; 3% Cabernet Franc. Putting its ripe currant fruit to good use as the focus of its rich, outgoing aromas, this wine is full and supple on entry and firm across the palate with tannins for backbone and deep, slightly chocolate-tinged fruit showing the way in the finish. There are those who will try this one in its youth, but there is plenty of justification for letting it rest in the cellar for a few years yet.

Blend: 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc The 2005 Faust delivers a Cabernet with precision and style - all of the aromatics, complexity and finesse that are the best of this vintage without giving up any power. A core of sweet, juicy black fruit, classic black cherry and blackberry flavors pick right up right on the palate where the aromas leave off. - Charles Thomas & Aaron Pott, Winemakers

Inviting scents of black cherry, mocha and raspberry with hints of leather and menthol. Vibrant acidity and juicy flavors of raspberry and cassis bolstered by robust tannins. Layered, lingering finish of espresso, mint and wild cherry." 91 Points The Wine News
