WINEMAKER'S NOTE
From 25 hectares, set in a tableau of differing parcels, each adding somethingto the ensemble, Senechaux is a fairly typical blend, made up of 60% Grenache, the balance shared almost equally between Syrah and Mourvedre. The 2005 is morepowerful and concentrated than the pretty 2004 wine; its tannins will ensurelongevity and the concentration of sweet Grenache fruit will underwritequality. Great things are happening at this Domaine; the eponymous old menshould be very proud. Deep ruby. Ripe, smoky nose shows powerful red and dark berry aromas along with an exotic tobacco quality. Suave, velvety cherry/berry flavors offer impressive sweetness and depth, with silky tannins adding structure. A very pretty, harmonious wine, with considerable immediate appeal.
