Stephen Tanzer's International Wine CellarGlass-staining saturated ruby. High-toned, slightly medicinal aromas of crushed raspberry, chocolate and licorice; showing its oak today. Lush on entry, then medicinal and young in the mid-palate, with dense, dark flavors of blackberry pastille and licorice. Finishes with chewy tannins and excellent length. This impressively constituted malbec gained in sweetness as it opened in the glass, while maintaining sufficient life in the mouth.
