Connoisseurs' Guide to California WinesWe like the intense and multi-faceted nose of this wine, and its like-minded flavors of cassis, plums, toasted herbs and mildly cedary spice, but the pushy tannins that presently rush up at the end quash any thoughts of near-term enjoyment. It dries just enough to make us loathe to predict certain beauty, but, it may well surprise with six to eight years of age.

International Wine CellarFull red-ruby. Youthfully medicinal aroma of kirsch Juicy, primary and tightly wound but with good underlying intensity. This classically dry, structured, serious wine will need several years of bottle aging. Finishes with ripe, spreading tannins.
