Here again, the juxtaposition of ripe fruit and ultra-hard tannins raise questions where this wine is going and how it will take to get there. Still, it offers a decent look at cassis-like fruit tinged by a toasty, almost dried hay note of complexity, and its nuanced notes of graphite, violets and minerals all add their positive bits. Time is needed here, perhaps as much as a decade.
