Connoisseurs' Guide to California WinesDespite the fact that this wine is 40% Merlot, it comes equipped with tannins more reminiscent of St. Estephe than anywhere else in Bordeaux. It inner pieces are quite lovely, however, and if one is willing to take the decade-long risk that the currant and wild flower character of its aromas and underlying flavors will emerge fully with time, then this wine offers the chance that substantial rewards are in the offing.

International Wine CellarRed-ruby. Cool aromas of blackberry and mint. Quite primary and unevolved today, with reasonably intense dark fruit flavors currently suppressed by a streak of acidity that gives the finish a dry edge. Seems a bit underripe/overripe today and is showing awkwardly.
