Wine SpectatorThis is a presale offer! Full payment is required on all presales. Wine is due in Spring/Summer of 2008. Wine & SpiritsChacirc;teau Caronnes Ste Gemme is a rare bargain from the stellar 2000 vintage. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, itrsquo;s rich ruby color indicates sweetly blackberry and cassis aromas. Full with firm tannins, itrsquo;s loaded with black currant, cedar, and twiggy mint. For the price, itrsquo;s worth grabbing at least two bottles: one to drink now, and one to cellar for a few more years!

ejeffb2004amazing black currant cassis, dark chocolat on the nose for days. full bodied long finish, oak tannins on the finish. obviously no heat, 13.5% alc, hugely drinkable. some licorice on the nose, no white pepper, no green bell pepper, fantastic wine, I love this wine, shouldn't have opened. some aging happening, some pencil lead? COMPLETLY coats the mouth, even anterior buccal vestibule. wow. tannins like crazy, lots of aging potential.

Fellow Drync'rSlightly dry, very smooth, and enjoyable to drink. Paired with roasted pork...delicious.

ejeffb2004Not as good as it was when tasted in 2010... Some vegetal now, fruit fading?
