Its rich, almost milk chocolate oak notwithstanding, this wine is far from dominated by that oak, and while it is not boldly fruity, it is reasonably well-balanced with just enough underlying soft-ness to make itself more inviting than not. It comes up just a bit short at the finish, and that minor but evident aspect holds the wine back from higher praise.
