Rating: VERY GOOD Distinctive - As reviewed by Food & Wine - 2009 Wine Guide on 2009. In spite of its considerable alcohol (14.5 percent), this wine manages to stay well balanced. Made from old-vine Tempranillo grown on the vast, dry plains of south-central Spain, it yields ample chocolate and fruit flavors for a fair price-a La Mancha hallmark.

Saturated ruby. Strikingly aromatic nose offers a pungent array of fruit, floral and herbal scents. Sweet cherry-vanilla and cola flavors coat the palate and are enlivened by juicy acidity. Supple tannins gain strength on the finish, which strongly repeats the cola and floral qualities. This is ready to drink.
