Good deep red-ruby. Blackberry, violet and licorice aromas, complicated by leather and graphite. Wonderfully sweet, silky and suave, with an inner-mouth aromatic quality rare for the year. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon; 40% Cabernet Franc. The ripeness of 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon is here countered by the tight aspects of Cabernet Franc, and the result is a wine that has the lovely curranty fruit of the former with the sweet berry notes and firm tannins of the latter. It is a wine that might appear to be falling all over itself at first glance but which then impresses both for its depth and for the strong suggestions that more and better will emerge over the next decade.

Absolutely elegant and lucious deep red wine. Flavors of ripe cherries, plums, vanilla, and leather. Remarkably fruity yet perfectly "seasoned" with French oak. A legend in the making.
