Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines62% Cabernet Sauvignon; 34% Merlot; 4% Petit Verdot. While it sports a high percentage of Merlot in its mix and does show passing glimpses of black cherries, this ripe and weighty effort is all Cabernet in structure with blustery tannins precluding early enjoyment. Tough it may be, but it is never so dry as to make aging a real risk, and five or six years of forbearance will bring it nothing but good.
