WINEMAKER'S NOTE
Wine Enthusiast Review Rated 95 Strong's Symmetry almost qualifies as a Cabernet Sauvignon, with 71% of that variety, and the rest consisting of Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. The Meritage labeling identifies it as their supreme bottling of a Bordeaux-style wine. Easily the best Symmetry ever, it is a great wine. Dry and somewhat astringent in tannins, it has an impressively deep core of blackberries and currants, with an array of sweet herbs, chocolate and tobacco. It's delicious now, and should slowly develop bottle complexities over the next 10 years. Wine Tasting Notes Symmetry greets you with an opulent bouquet of blackberries, ripe dark plums and sweet spices. The wine opens generously on the palate with layers of blackberry, cassis and plum framed with accents of dark chocolate and spice. The finish is persistent and smooth. This wine is at once rich, harmonious, powerful, and elegant; a wine intended to be enjoyable on release, yet destined for years of further evolution in the bottle. Savor it! (hide)

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines71% Cabernet Sauvignon; 20% Merlot; 7% Malbec; 2% Petit Verdot. This initially intriguing wine winds up falling in sections, and its early themes of ripe cherries, plums, tobacco and sweet cream gradually drop off and are nudged aside by pushy oak and a fair bit of abrasive, mouth-drying tannin. Fruity potency is the recipe's missing ingredient, and time alone may not make things complete.
