Dark ruby. Aromas of ripe raspberry, blackberry, milk chocolate and smoked meat, along with a whiff of alcohol. Very full-bodied and supple on entry, with red fruit and ripe plum flavors. Then pleasantly soft and ripe in the middle, with the alcohol contributing to the luscious mouth feel. Finishes suave and rich, but surprisingly short for a wine of this pedigree. Perhaps I'm just catching it at an awkward stage. This may flesh out and deepen with a little bottle age.
