Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines52% Cabernet Sauvignon; 26% Merlot; 21% Cabernet Franc; 1% Malbec. Clean and a bit mild given its ripeness and complex blend of varieties, this wine is full on the palate and sports a bit of curranty fruit along with hints of toasted herbs and chocolate. Its finishing tannins are firm but not aggressive or abrasive, and the wine is likely to drink well for the next several years alongside beef or lamb roasts.
International Wine CellarDark red. Aromas of black raspberry, bitter cherry, mocha, mint and nutty oak. Juicy, sappy and rather suave, with good spicy lift to the currant and cherry fruit flavors. This has a silky pliancy of texture that the winery's 2005 cabernet can't yet match. Finishes with sweet, dusty tannins and very good length.
