The Oracle is a Bordeaux-style blend inspired by the ancient Greek Oracle, the center of prophecy and wisdom. The fruit for this wine is sourced from Napa Valley’s renowned Stagecoach Vineyard, and the blend changes each year based on what we believe makes the best wine from what nature has given us.

This harmonious blend reveals aromas of blackberries, coffee and dried herbs that lead into layers of plush dark fruit flavors on the palate. With well-integrated oak and framed by finely grained tannins.

Drink now through 2013. 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec. 4,660 cases produced.

  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
52% Cabernet Sauvignon; 26% Merlot; 21% Cabernet Franc; 1% Malbec. Clean and a bit mild given its ripeness and complex blend of varieties, this wine is full on the palate and sports a bit of curranty fruit along with hints of toasted herbs and chocolate. Its finishing tannins are firm but not aggressive or abrasive, and the wine is likely to drink well for the next several years alongside beef or lamb roasts.

Dark red. Aromas of black raspberry, bitter cherry, mocha, mint and nutty oak. Juicy, sappy and rather suave, with good spicy lift to the currant and cherry fruit flavors. This has a silky pliancy of texture that the winery's 2005 cabernet can't yet match. Finishes with sweet, dusty tannins and very good length.
