It seems to us that this tightly bound wine should be a bit more open and outgoing given its age, but we must admit to liking its youthful fruit, its temperate oak and its admirable energy. If it is to show real complexity, it will do so only after several more years of aging are allowed. Its overall balance and impressions of substance tip the scales in its favor.
