Wine & SpiritsStraddling the border between Napa and Sonoma at an elevation of 2,000 feet, Price specializes in crafting mountain-grown Cabernet - in a refreshingly different style from the fierce mountain wines of the past. Their '95, quite dark in color, starts out brooding and remote before it opens up to reveal cinnamon, cardamom, pepper spice and deep black plum Cabernet fruit. the tannins are formidable, but there's also fine acidity to lighten their mass. This is the real thing: big, muscular and worthy of ten years aging. Remarkably, however, it's approachable now, and would be read more...great with a very ripe, stinky cheese. (hide)
