Connoisseurs' Guide to California WinesThere is little in the way of classic Cabernet to be found here, and, if truth be told, the wine is not especially convincing vis-a-vis varietal character. It is, however, a very rich and showy effort whose obvious ripeness, lavish oak, depth and palatal plushness make for inviting drinking. It comes with a slight bent to softness as befits its warmer provenance, and its modest measure of gentle tannins commends it to mid-term drinking.
