Bright ruby-red. Brooding but sweet aromas of blueberry, black cherry, licorice and menthol. Ripe, moderately dense, smooth and full; this is stuffed with redcurrant, blueberry and licorice flavors. Finishes firmly tannic but not dry, with very good chocolatey persistence. An excellent early showing for this wine. This should be a terrific value.

Chateau Cos Labory 5eme Cru Classe 2003. Next door to Cos DEstournel, good value here. Impressive nose of ripe berry fruits, masses of lovely ripe fruit and good backbone of smooth and ripe tannins. Clear evidence of the outstanding success of the vintage in Northern Medoc. Drink 2010

Rating: 3/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. (5th growth) Fine, discreet aromas. Just a hint of spice apparent at this early stage. Rich coffee/spice notes and a succulent palate. Drink 2011-21.
