15% Merlot; 4% Petit Verdot; 2% Cabernet Franc. Scattered notes of curranty fruit are something of an afterthought in the oaky, mildly vanillin nose of this bottling, and, while the wine is ripe and shows a certain frontal fatness on the palate, its flavors are similarly sparing in the fruity basics. It gets good points for its suppleness and its fine, fleshy feel, but its slightly hot, slightly dry finish serves to remind again that it is never quite as fruity or as well-filled as it could be.
