WINEMAKER'S NOTE
A blend of 81% Syrah and 19% Petite Syrah, the inky/purple-colored 2001 Relentless exhibits notes of creosote/graphite intermixed with blackberry liqueur and acacia flower characteristics. This full-bodied, intense effort’s beautiful integration of new oak, acidity, and tannin make it accessible now, but there is plenty of structure underneath the rush of fruit and glycerin. Drink this stunning effort over the next decade.

International Wine CellarGood full ruby. Musky aromas of bitter chocolate and espresso turned oakier with aeration. Bright, penetrating black raspberry fruit offers excellent intensity but comes across as a bit hard-edged. Turned a bit drier on the back end under its load of oak.
