WINEMAKER'S NOTE
A delicious and juicy Cabernet. Blackberry nose, accented by cherry, plum and cedar. Supple and full-bodied, with intense fruit(blackberry, plum) and overtones of toast and spicy oak.

  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
Showing no shortage of very sweet oak in either its outgoing aromas or its juicy young flavors, this bottling tempts early on but snaps shut at the finish as its tongue-numbing tannins take charge. Despite its long look at well-ripened fruit, it is in no way a wine for the near term, and it will need five years or more in the cellar to find the first signs of polish or charm that it now so obviously lacks.
