The 2002 Freemark Abbey Merlot is a deep, dark ruby color. The aromas are forward with rich black cherry and hints of berry, plum and dark chocolate. There is a touch of oak and bay laurel, with cinnamon/nutmeg spiciness. This wine is full-flavored with great depth and very modest tannins.
