International Wine CellarRating: 95(+?) - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 116, September/October 2004. Steely, penetrating aromas of pineapple, apple and minerals; almost medicinal in its austerity. Then dense, fat and ripe but at the same time powerful, steely and backward. Conveys a drier impression today than the Meursault Perrieres. Not yet particularly complex, but this strongly minerally, layered wine offers great grip and aging potential. Coche noted that there were more rain showers around the village of Aloxe-Corton in '02 than in Meursault, which is one reason he prefers the Meursault Perrieres in this vintage. The same weather pattern occurred in vintage 2003, but in '03 the extra precipitation was a boon for his Corton-Charlemagne vines.
