A deep, bright gold, with just a suggestion of green. An open nose; ripe apple/peach aroma is quite distinctly Riesling in character, with good freshness, sappy concentration and focus, and an elegant style. Very good indeed! The palate also shows elegance, with plenty of apple/peach flavor, plump and fleshy juiciness, and good mineral. Delicious! Good body, some richness, balanced and smooth, dry, with modest-good acidity.

This wine is pale golden in color with a greenish tinge. On the nose it has developed aromas of minerals, with a slight petrol note. On the palate it is full, again slightly mineral, with grapefruit and lemon-like fruit. The ripeness is balanced by good fresh acidity and great length. It is ready to drink now but has potential to age for another five years. This wine is a classic introduction to Alsace Riesling where the aim is for a relatively high-alcohol, dry, powerful wine with enormous length and flavor. These characteristics make it an ideal accompaniment to Alsace-style dishes such as tarte read more...doignon, choucroute and pork. It is also a great companion to grilled or marinated fish.    (hide)
