depiccfxThe current release is the 2001 Reserva Especial, a deeply colored wine with a lovely perfume of cinnamon, lavender, incense, balsamic, and black cherry. Medium-bodied, velvety-textured, and already complex, it will continue to evolve for another 5-10 years and offer a drinking window extending from 2016 to 2036. For those seeking immediate gratification, it has the virtue of being approachable now. (6/ 2010)

lisewsd2deep, brooding, purple color. Intense herbal spice and coffee notes - delicate, yet powerful. This is followed by a deep, rich dark cherry fruit, a very fine balance of fine tannins and supporting acidity. As with all wines from La Rioja Alta, it is drinkable on release, but there are very clear signs that this wine will certainly support significant ageing in the cellar. Drink 2011-2025+
