WINEMAKER'S NOTE
Moderately dark ruby red in color, the Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of cherry, blueberry with a hint of orange rind and violet. The bouquet is a dark complex of tar, tobacco, cedar and chocolate oak. Showing ripe and velvety soft tannins supported by good acidity, this wine is delicious now with grilled or roasted red meats and red-sauced pasta dishes and will develop additional complexity with bottle aging.

  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
11% Merlot; 5% Petite Sirah. Although wanting for nothing in the way of weight and substance, this chunky, fat, full-bodied wine is rough, ripe and dry without much in the way of fruity drive or brightness, and its suspect center is simply no match for its ten-year tannins.
