WINEMAKER'S NOTE
It's flavors of boysenberry, plum and dark chocolate give it a round mid-palate which compliments the wine's intense bouquet of dark fruit followed by a long finish. The wine's structure is gleaned from velvety tannins. It is a tightly focused wine that promises to be a delight in its youth and will have particular beauty as it ages.

90 Points, Wine Enthusiast:

"Opens with complex aromas of cassis and new smoky oak, and turns lush and smooth when it hits the palate, yet at times seems almost too ripe. Gorgeous now, and should improve through 2015. It should drink well for 7-10 years." (Dec. 2003)

83 Points, Wine Spectator:

"A big, ripe, expressive wine that pushes it to the max, with intense, mouthcoating tannins and chewy currant, earth, sage and herbal notes that veer into leathery dryness. Drink now through 2009. 4,000 cases made. –JL" (11/15/2004)
