2001 E. Guigal Hermitage Blanc Ex-Voto
Intense forest fruit accented by a gamey undertone. A hearty palate with excellent length of finish. "Full red. Complex aromas of strawberry, redcurrant and pepper, with a hint of berry skin. Tangy and precise, with juicy, vibrant red berry and pepper flavors and excellent cut. Not hugely complex but this could serve as wine-class Crozes. Should make a very flexible dinner-table wine."-IWC
International Wine CellarSaturated medium ruby. Knockout nose combines superripe, liqueur-like black- and redcurrant, gunflint, pepper, leather, game and chocolate. Huge, spicy and rich, with outstanding sweetness and depth of flavor. A massive but well-delineated Hermitage that finishes with extraordinarily suave tannins. Built for two decades of development in bottle. This is 14% alcohol, with a pH of 3. 87.
