2001 Diamond Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Gravelly Meadow
Dark ruby in color with an exotic nose of black cherry, black currants, blackberries, spice edged with cedar. Rich complex, clean and fresh, with fine flavors of black cherry, spicy currants, hinting of spice and mint, with a delightful dusty nuance. The fruity finish is cherry and berry etched. Lush fruit and balanced tannins.
SWine Spectator: 89 An intense, ruggedly tannic style that packs in distinctive earthy currant, blackberry, cedar and wild berry flavors before the tannins wrap it up tightly. Needs cellaring. Best from 2006 through 2014. 500 cases made.
DecanterRating: 4/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. Deep, ripe blackcurrant and spice aromas. Very classy, well structured, grained tannins, lovely fruit, balanced with enormous tight complexity. Drink 2010-15.
