Saturated medium ruby. Highly aromatic nose of dark berries, leather, tar, tobacco and violet. Suave and fine-grained, with lovely concentration and pliant texture. The violet and tobacco notes carry through in the mouth. In a distinctly gentler style than the 2002, finishing with smooth, fine tannins and subtle persistence.

Rating: 3/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. Very deep colour, dense, almost opaque. Concentrated black currant nose, rich and sweet, well extracted, but not very complex. This will come, but there is a hint of greenness, despite the rich fruit. Good for the short/medium term. (Tasted en primeur)
