2000 Trimbach Riesling
Rated by many judges as the greatest Alsace Riesling of all, Clos Sainte Hune comes from an exceptional, 1.3 hectare plot near Hunawih. Dry yet succulent, of phenomenal complexity, this wine develops an extra-ordinary aftertaste of minerals after a few years in bottle. Of great longevity and very rare (production rarely exceeds 7000 bottles), Clos Sainte Hune takes at least seven years to reach its peak.
International Wine CellarSuperripe yet stony aromas of pineapple, lime, vanilla and coconut. Deep, large-scaled, very ripe and thoroughly dry , with penetrating flavors of crystallized grapefruit and pineapple and a repeating note of coconut. Like an essence of stone, with brisk acids giving the wine superb verve. Still an infant and built for long life.
