2000 Trimbach Pinot Gris Réserve Personnelle
One of the noblest of Alsace grapes, it produces a full, viscous, richly fruity style, often with a lush aftertaste. Its great depth is balanced by the crisp acidity that gives structure and longevity. A slight smokiness, combined with underlying delicacy, is a typical trait. Superb with food, the Pinot Gris comes into its own with terrines, foie gras, smoked fish, fish in sauce (notably salmon), and white meats.
Wine.comRich and fragrant nose, apricot and touch of botrytis. Very ripe fruits in the palate, creamy texture, full-bodied. Very charming, meaty, extract rich, good acidity. Beautifully balanced. Aging potential 10 + years. Delicious with rich dishes. Foi - gras or goose-liver pate, veal sweat breads, duck filets... Excellent wine to be matched with creamy sauces and mushrooms. Great companion to many fish dishes, smoked salmon for instance, Dove Sole, Turbot, Monkfish, Seabass... Great companion to white meats, veal, poultry, chicken...in white wine sauces.
