International Wine CellarRating: 90/100 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 108, May/June 2003 ($80) Impressive dark ruby color. Superripe aromas of chocolate syrup, mocha, tobacco and smoke, with a meaty nuance. Fat, thick and rich, with roasted currant and truffle flavors. Extremely lush and full in the mouth, but could use a bit more clarity and refinement. Finishes quite long, with smooth tannins. Erin Green noted that a lot of the 2000 merlot was sold off in bulk.
