  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
A tad on the light side relative to some of this producer's past successes, this wine chooses restraint over rambunctiousness but sports a nice bit of mildly oaked cherryish fruit. Well-defined yet never an expansive Pinot, it tends to a little to narrowness as it goes, but it keeps acidity in check and promises fine service as a mate to lighter duck or veal dishes.

Fruity, floral tones with a delicious texture, silky tannins. Ample in the mouth with a fine, long finish. Serving suggestions: grilled salmon, hearty fish stews, and prime choice beef. ...a sense of elegance on a sturdy frame, with pretty cherry and candied fruit flavors playing out against fine-grain texture, persisting nicely on the open finish. -Wine Spectator

Good medium red. Perfumed aromas of candied redcurrant and cherry, with smoke and floral components. Solid but one-dimensional red fruit flavors offer decent definition and weight. More aromatically inviting than most Oregon pinots from this vintage, but a bit pinched on the back end, with some unabsorbed acidity.
