Wine.comI started the blend with a base of Semillon for its lush flavors of sun-ripened apricots and honeyed figs and added Sauvignon Blanc for its citrus and light herbal tones. So far, that's a classic combination in Frances Bordeaux region, but I blended in some Chardonnay to round the wine and lend a buttery citrus dimension. Finally, I put in just a dollop of Viognier, for its floral and light spice notes. I used the same winemaking techniques that I use for our Private Reserve Chardonnay. The final wine is complex layers of toasty, nutty, vanilla and butter aromas and flavors that interplay nicely with the varietal fruits.
