Richly appointed in oak and suggestive of caramel, toffee and toast, this young, somewhat fleshy, well-filled wine shows lots of substance and essential ripeness but is uncommonly smooth in feel. It reveals a tougher side in the late going, but its evident tannins are shadowed by ample fruit, and there is every reason to expect that the wine will round out and expand further with three to five years of age.
