Earthy, wet leather aromas blow off to ripe and decadent fruit. Full-bodied, with soft and silky tannins and a long, luscious aftertaste of ripe fruit and tobacco. I like this very much. Better than the 1997. Drink now. -Wine Spectator

decanted leading to fruits, cherry, dusty earth, fresh tobacco, tar, chestnut and milk chocolate. The palate is a bit dusty with bright acidity and noticeable but none-obtrusive tannins. I would definitely recommend a couple hours of decanting and serve with a grilled meat or pasta
