WINEMAKER'S NOTE
Explosive aromas of fresh cut fig, crème brulee, and toasty oatmeal. The palate is filled with rich, pure bosc pear, ripe yellow-delicious apple, mandarin orange, and toffee flavors. Distinct oak tones are well integrated and create a harmonious mouth-feel. This powerful, concentrated wine has a long, lingering finish.Alcohol 14.5%

Connoisseurs' Guide to California WinesSimply spilling over with rich oak spice, ripe fruit and close to pungent toastiness in the nose, this unrestrained display of all-out winemaking is every bit as big, fat and unsubtle in flavor as promised. Late-arriving acidity counters the wine's tendencies to corpulence, and the slightly edgy finish gets a little coarse and overly keyed on oak. Fans of blockbuster Chardonnays will be more than happy here, but another year of softening should make a good thing even better.
