Wine.comAs with most 1999s, there is a higher than usual proportion of Merlot in the blend. Not a blockbuster by any means, indeed this wonderful Chateau is not suited to such a style. The 1999 Rauzan displays excellent balance between ripe tannins and fruit. Drinking from 2004.

DecanterRating: 4/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. Fresh tight structured blackcurrant nose with a touch of smokiness from the oak. Great ripeness and silkiness on the palate. Very concentrated and almost minerally. Drink 2004
