Ruby-red. Aromas of smoky oak, chocolate, tobacco leaf, mint and earth. Flavors generally cooler than those of the 2001 and 2000, ranging from red fruit liqueur to less-ripe leafy and minty notes. Offers an attractive fruit/acid balance, but there's less stuffing here to support the somewhat less ripe tannins, giving the finish a faint dryness.
