Wine.comColour: Deep red with magenta hues. Nose: Expressive varietal lift - predominantly blackcurrant with a hint of tomato leaf. Wild raspberry and blackberry nuances become evident as the wine sits in the glass. A subtle background of spicy, smoky oak. Palate: Generous ripe berry fruits - like blackcurrant conserve - with a suggestion of praline. Pronounced, yet not aggressive, tannins. Finishes with a fruit sweetness and balanced oak/tannin firmness. Serving and Cellaring Suggestions: This wine will gain complexity and evolve with careful cellaring. An ideal accompaniment to roast lamb.

International Wine CellarRating: 91/100 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 103, July/August 2002. ($80) Very deep ruby-red. Deep, opulent aromas of ripe blackcurrant, dark plum, mulberry jam and violet, along with overt but nicely integrated oak notes of vanilla, chocolate and cigar box. Sumptuous, soft and ripe, long and creamy. Steeped in crushed ripe blackcurrant and blackberry fruit. Richly endowed cabernet, with plush, smoky coconut and vanillin oak, but tightly woven around a linear spine of firm tannins. A softer, sweeter and earlier-maturing vintage for Bin 707.
