Rating: 91(+?) - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 88, January/February 2000. Profound, saturated ruby to the rim. Superripe, primal aromas of blackberry, black cherry, menthol and woodsmoke; strong spicy oak component. Thick, meaty and mouthfilling; powerful and full. The note of woodsmoke carries through to the finish, which is very long and smooth, with ripe, expanding tannins. Really outsized red from northeastern Italy.
