  • Description
1997 was a vintage of great quality and quantity. A temperate summer with moderate temperatures allowed the fruit to reach optimal maturity with good hang time for the full development of character and flavors. The wine is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc and 9% Merlot. This, along with the stylistic fruit from the Burgess Estate vineyard, produced a very complex wine with a depth of character achieved from this mountain location. There is a spicy quality that combines with the French oak, creating an aroma and flavor that continues through many layers. “The tightly focused currant, berry, coffee, herb, chocolate and cedar flavors of this Napa Cab are ripe and concentrated, holding their richness on the long finish.” Wine Spectator - Wine Spectator 90 points
