International Wine CellarVery full ruby-garnet, dark and deep. Ample in aroma, with sweet cassis fruit, light accents of sage and rosemary, chocolate and roasted coffee from the oak, and some alcoholic warmth. Dense, round and velvety on the palate, with expanding flavors. Finishes with important tannic strength and impressive weight and force. The fusion of the sangiovese and cabernet components of this wine is more accomplished than in past vintages.

BigmarTasted by randyjc on 3/25/2012 & rated 94 points: A beautiful, mature bottle. Dark aromatics of leather and earth followed by a silky mouth feel. Flavors are, again, leather, earth and mature black cherry. The wine teeters between being Brunello and Bordeaux though, due to its age, it had some raisiny character I associate with Amarone. All in all, a marvelous wine. Sorry to see the last of these go. (514 views)
