When the wine was drawn off, it seemed at first hard and austere in comparison with the initial opulence of the 1995's.But after the malolactic fermentation and a few months in barrel, the concentration has taken on a seductive and rich charm; the wines are at the same time silky and full of intense classy ripe fruit but also very structured and built for long term keeping. An exceptional vintage that will be very long-lived.
