Dark red. Ripe aromas of cherry, menthol, minerals and stewed tomato. Fat, silky and quite concentrated; black cherry flavor leans toward jammy but is supported by fresh acidity and a chalky austerity. This has a three-dimensional texture that too few right-bank wines from '97 or '96 can match. A serious wine for the cellar.
