1995 Château La Mission Haut-Brion
WINEMAKER'S NOTE
"Medium-full colour. Depth and class here. Quite Medoc-y. Still youthful. Fullish. Quite tannic but very good tannins. Backward but splendidly promising. Ripe and concentrated and profound. Very fine." (Clive Coates - The Vine - 01-Jan-1999)

Rating: 91(+?) - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 78, May/June 1998. Good full red. Pungent redcurrant, mineral, plum, coffee and smoke aromas. Penetrating, firm, and tightly wound, with excellent intensity and delineation of flavor; hiding its density today. Very long and firm on the back end; tannins coat the entire mouth. A strong showing for this wine.
  • Decanter
Rating: 4/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. Stalky nose with deep black fruit and chocolately, spicy aromas. Velvety tannins and lovely fruit.

Dense, rich powerful and concentrated. A bouquet of mineral scents, cassis and black currants and earthy, smoky scents.
